10Gtek for Juniper 100G QSFP28 Transceiver Compatibility Matrix Solution
In Juniper’s official site, we can find a tool called Hardware Compatibility Tool where consumers can use the tool to check and confirm the compatibility of Juniper’s products.
Generally speaking, the compatible transceivers have been listed in Hardware Compatibility Tool.
Let’s take Juniper’s 100G QSFP28 Transceiver as an example.
Suppose that we have a Juniper QFX series switch at hand. In Juniper’s Hardware Compatibility Tool, we can find that some kinds of transceivers can be accepted by our QFX5200-32C switch, while some kinds of transceivers are not been accepted. For example, JNP-100G-2X50G-1M, JNP-100G-4X25G-1M and JNP-100G-4X25G-3M can be accepted, while CFP-100GBASE-ER4, CFP-100GBASE-LR4 and so on, can not be accepted. Just as below two figures show.

As we all known, since MSA has created, lots of vendors manufacture transceivers. They provide lower cost options besides original brand’s transceivers. Facing the problem about the compatibility, is it ok for using third-party transceivers in Juniper’s products?
In general, third party’s transceivers are compatible with Juniper’s product, which means that third party vendor’s transceivers can be used in Juniper’s switches and routers.

When we insert Juniper original transceiver into Juniper’s device, device won’t display any hint and run normally.
Non-Juniper’s Transceiver
When we insert Non-Juniper original transceiver into Juniper’s device, device will display a sign as “ NON-JNPR”, showing that the transceiver is not the original one by Juniper.
10Gtek’s Transceiver
10Gtek provide the transceivers that can be used in Juniper’s switches and routers.
When 10Gtek transceiver is inserted into Juniper’s device, the device will display a code as “ 740-061001”, as the red square frame shows in the below figure.
The code shows that the transceiver is no difference with Juniper’s original transceiver. That is to say this transceiver is fully compatible with Juniper’s product.
